90 minutes of stress. That’s when I knew that Real Madrid were back. It really was the same old story for Los Blancos. At home, concede first and make a comeback later. In La Liga’s opener, Real Madrid were not impressive and lacked flare, particularly in the first half. Our defense was atrocious as Ramos & Pepe lacked sharpness. Marcelo & Carvajal are attack-minded defenders and their defensive duties are not the best. Starting both seems to be too risky. Benzema opened the scoring for Real Madrid to equalize thanks to a sweet throughball from newboy Isco. Time went on as the match continued 1-1 as Real Madrid missed a flurry of chances. Dropping 2 points on opening day would have been a nightmare start to the season – but then came Isco. Time was running out for Los Blancos as the Bernabéu was restless throughout the night. Marcelo played a beautiful cross to the center of the box as Isco got his head on it and scored in the back of the net. Pure jubilation as 3 points were all but sealed on opening day and an official victory was under Ancelotti’s belt. The little genius Isco seems to have won Madridista’s hearts already as opening day belonged to him – an assist and a goal on his debut for Real Madrid.
Isco’s amazing skill, putting the ball through 2 defender’s legs in a row:
